Mashabela Hastern AKA Young Tee was born and raised in a small village named Madeira Ga-Sekororo outside Tzaneen in Limpopo province. Young Tee got his first major break after the Mepako track gained momentum and got featured on TV. He has described his sound as Hip Hop Motswako, an acronym for the fusion of hip hop with a mixture of Sepedi and English language.

After this massive and classic hit track, he decided to start a foundation called Young Tee foundation.
